Student Technical Lead
I am a recent Cybersecurity graduate with hands-on experience in information security from Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research. I've developed and documented five custom Wazuh detection rules mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, successfully validating them against over 462 alerts and 515 authentication events. I'm building toward a role as a Cybersecurity Engineer, where I can leverage my skills in security monitoring and risk assessment to enhance organizational security.
Configured network segmentation, NAT, and access-control rules to enforce security controls and restrict inbound traffic. Performed Nmap service discovery and vulnerability scanning, correlated findings against firewall logs, and implemented rules to block identified exposure. Documented security configurations, testing results, and attack-surface findings in a structured evidence format.
Analyzed a phishing email's raw .eml file, headers, and authentication records to trace a spoofed sender and assess control gaps. Enriched five related domains via VirusTotal, weighed detection counts against domain age and reputation, and mapped findings to MITRE ATT&CK. Compiled an IOC list and supporting write-up as investigation evidence for SIEM ingestion and future reference.
Built a Windows-based SOC lab with Wazuh and Sysmon for endpoint telemetry and investigation. Developed and documented 5 custom Wazuh detection rules mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, validated across 462+ alerts and 515 authentication events. Simulated attacks with MITRE Caldera and Hydra, then analyzed logs and triaged findings, recording results for reporting.
August 2025 – October 2025
Built and configured a pfSense firewall lab, documenting network security and access-control rules for later review. Designed and deployed a SOC lab environment, producing configuration and monitoring documentation for hands-on investigation exercises. Configured security tools and lab infrastructure to support log analysis, alert investigation, and attack simulation, maintaining setup records for reproducibility. Guided junior students on firewall rules, network security concepts, and security monitoring practices, reinforcing clear written and verbal communication.
