Cybersecurity Intern
I am a Cybersecurity Intern with hands-on SOC experience from an internship at I4C – Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, a Government of India cybersecurity body. I monitored and investigated 50–100 security alerts daily using Splunk SIEM. My current focus is seeking a SOC Analyst L1, Cybersecurity Analyst, or Information Security Analyst role.
Architected an automated security monitoring tool in Python that checks multiple endpoints via HTTP/HTTPS status codes (200, 404, 500, 503) for proactive incident detection. Implemented failure classification logic for server errors, client errors, and timeouts, replicating SOC-style alert monitoring workflows. Produced structured reporting dashboards highlighting uptime status, failure patterns, and error distribution to support incident response.
Designed a Python-based threat detection system aligned to the Cyber Kill Chain framework, identifying attack progression across multiple stages. Integrated MITRE ATT&CK mappings to classify and correlate detected attack behaviors, and implemented automated anomaly-based IP blocking. Developed an interactive SOC-style dashboard visualizing attack stages, IOCs, blocked IPs, and security events for real-time monitoring.
Dec 2025 – Feb 2026
Monitored and investigated 50–100 security alerts daily using Splunk SIEM, triaging cybercrime incidents and escalating critical events per SOC and incident response procedures. Built and tuned Splunk correlation searches for failed-login and brute-force detection, and performed log analysis and event correlation via SPL queries to identify IOCs and support root cause investigations. Conducted vulnerability assessments across internal systems, built an AI-powered Endpoint Security Analyzer (Python/ML), and delivered security documentation and awareness training.
Jan 2025 – Feb 2025
Monitored security events and system logs to identify potential threats, supporting day-to-day SOC-style monitoring and incident escalation workflows. Assisted in vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing exercises on internal systems, documenting findings and recommended remediations. Supported security awareness initiatives and contributed to internal documentation on best practices for endpoint and network security.
Jan 2024 – Mar 2024
Performed web application penetration testing using OWASP Top 10 methodology with Nmap, Burp Suite, and Nessus. Captured and analyzed network traffic using Wireshark to identify anomalous communication patterns and potential threats. Conducted vulnerability scanning and reconnaissance, producing risk-rated security assessment reports and investigating malware behavior.
